Perfect waves and warm water
Santa Catalina is one of the best places in Central America to surf and definitely the best wave in panama.
Called “la Punta” or “the Point”, the main break is a world class right with long rides and different sections that are good not only for tube riding but allow all kinds of maneuvers as well. this same wave also has a left that is not as long as the right. This wave is very consistent and is good from 2 to 20 feet . As it is a wave that breaks over a rocky bottom and has good power it is more suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
There are other good waves in the area as well as in off-shore islands like cebaco or coiba where you will surf world class waves all alone .and if you are a beginner you have the estero beach-break to practice all day long and have surf lessons if you wish to .
